اطلاعات مهم برای ذینفعان

IOM is committed to addressing the needs and upholding the rights of migrants and crisis-affected communities. Protecting the well-being and dignity of individuals in vulnerable situations, and especially of those who are exposed to abuse, exploitation, violence, neglect and deliberate deprivation, is an essential part of the Organization's mandate.

IOM’s Protection programme in Iran supports the rights of migrants, including refugees, and host community, including holders of Foreign Nationals Temporary Residence Card (Amayesh card holders), Afghan nationals registered government-led headcount exercises, undocumented and stranded migrants, returning Iranians, and host community in need. The protection team has interventions  in settlements, as well as with communities living outside settlements in various Iranian provinces.

IOM’s comprehensive humanitarian support provides lifesaving humanitarian assistance and MHPSS for vulnerable migrants including refugees, populations on the move, such as transiting migrants and survivors of human trafficking as well as the most vulnerable members of the host community. Interventions include case management and one-off protection services as needed, comprising vulnerability, protection risks and needs assessment, direct provision of protection services, such as cash for protection, documentation support, psychosocial support, and referrals to other protection specialized services. A continuous protection risk analysis informs IOM interventions.   Moreover, IOM provides capacity building support to the government of Iran and other stakeholders to enhance their ability to respond to the protection needs of migrants, including refugees.

In general IOM Iran aims to reduce protection risks of individuals in vulnerable situations and maintain a particular focus over the needs of women, girls, the elderly, and disabled people, across all areas of intervention. For example, during the process of renovating a sport complex in the Afghan settlement of Torbet-e-Jan, IOM sought to engage specifically with women and girls, so to upgrade the existing structure into a multi-purpose space capable of accommodating various sports and recreational activities accessible to all.

Objectives

IOM Iran seeks to prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable individuals. This objective is achieved according to protection needs assessments, surveying different target groups in close coordination and collaboration with the Iranian authorities.

IOM Iran also aims to strengthen the provision of protection assistance to persons with specific needs identified through protection monitoring and referred by partner organizations.
